As I said, yesterday was a big partying day. It was the annual event called Valborgsmässoafton, or Walpurgis Night in English. It is always on the last of April and traditionally it is the time for the year’s largest bonfire. In my city, however, we don’t do bonfires. Instead we look upon the last of April as the biggest party of the year, even bigger than New Year’s Eve. Really early in the morning, everyone goes to the central park, and celebrate by drinking and dancing. The party goes on all day and the whole night without stop.
As you may understand, May 1st is usually a very calm and quiet day here.

Sounds like a fun day! Hope you get some peace and quiet today:)
Yeah, I’m basically staying in bed and drinking coffee today))
Seems a lot more fun than a bonfire, although I used to love them when I was a kid.
Hope you had a great time!
It was more fun! Thanks))
I had a long night yesterday too, so I’m just staying at home today, watching movies and going through your wonderful blog. I’m loving it all!
Thank you, Susan!
Nice picture!
Thank you, Jennifer!
Valborg had totally slipped my mind – I didn’t even realize until today… Maybe not so strange since it’s not celebrated here. I hope you had a great day yesterday!!
Thanks, I did! Yesterday. And today I’m paying my dues;)
