The wind-up bird chronicle

Both Hannes and I love Haruki Murakami. We’ve read all of his books, except his latest novel 1Q84, which I’m really looking forward to reading.
Hannes’ favorite novel by Murakami is The wind-up bird chronicle. We even have it in three languages.

My favorite novel by this author is Norwegian wood, which was the first one I’d ever read by him many years ago.

I so love Murakami’s wind-up chronicle! I read it 3 years ago and it really touched me. It’s incredible all he transmits in that book, I even felt depressed as the main character is. Moreover, I had been quite recently in Tokyo in that time, so all descriptions about the city were vivid and real to me.

It’s great to have books in different languages, I like much more the covers you have than mine (in spanish), you can see it here, I spoke about it time ago ;)

My husband and I love him, too. We both lived in Japan and got hooked. I’ve most recently read After Dark but have been DIEING to read Wind Up Bird Chronicles. Thanks for the post. So nostalgic.

I really love Murakami. Very dreamy-like novels. Especially the Sputnik Sweetheart. My favorite. Have you seen the movie Norwegian wood?
