It’s a very special day in Sweden today, called Fettisdagen, which can be translated into Fatty Tuesday. Today is the day when, according to an old tradition, everyone is supposed to eat at least one semla. A semla is a form of pastry, a cardamom wheat bun with almond paste and whipped cream inside.
To be honest, I started celebrating early and ate one semla yesterday. However, I’m planning to eat more of them today!

Aww, the pictures of semla make me miss my best friend even more! He used to make them every year we were in university together! Hope you’re enjoying, it looks mums!
Traditionsenligt skall man äta pannkakor, i alla fall i England.
Ja, det har att göra med att fastan är över.
I remember the Semla from my three months as an Erasmus student in Sweden. We had a huge Semla party the day after Fettisdagen with boxes and boxes of Semla as they go half-price or so then. Good times
That sounds delicious! I want to participate in Fatty Tuesday!
These pic’s makes me wish I was in Sweden today! I like Semlor a lot!! Enjoy the day!
Hmm, vill ha en
. Tror inte jag hittar några på Irland.
Du ser fin ut i bilden
.
Omg, semla sounds, and looks devilishly delicious! I would probably not be able to limit myself to having just one if I was in Sweden! How many did you have in the end=) ?
Happy Fettisdagen!
OMG I miss it.
What an interesting tradition, would love to try something similar
I have a fat Friday once a week, the other days.. I watch what I eat …. Semla… ohhhh I wish I could find a shop that makes them here.
Would you FedEx me three dozen to Texas?
Haha:) In fact, they’re not hard to make!
