Swedish Father’s Day

seals in sweden

The seals are supposed to illustrate the fathers!

It’s Father’s Day in Sweden today! My biological father is long gone and I’ve hardly ever met him. Though I often hear that I look like him and that my body language is exactly like his.

Nevertheless, I have a stepfather who I’ve been close with for many years! He’s always been a friend and a parent, so he’s the one I’m giving a Father’s Day gift today!

Thanks for your gift at the Father´s day! I am sorry that you could not join the rest of us today as your mum did excellent cooking as usual. I am happy to see that you got The Blog of The Week Award from Lilija which you deserve!

What a touching post. Thank you for giving us a peek into your life.

I have always believed that one’s family isn’t necessarily the biological relations, but the people who we love and who return that love without questions. I think this is particularly relevant with parenting. A mother/father, in my opinion, is a person who raises you to love and respect yourself and others, a person who helps with your homework, a person who wants nothing but your happiness, who makes you soup when you’re ill, who encourages you to be the best you can be, a person who no matter what, you know will be there just for you. That’s a parent. Happy Father’s Day!

Milla, thank you so much for your response! It means a lot to me, and I totally agree with you! It takes a lot to be a family, but it doesn’t mean you have to be related. There are many other, more important, aspects.
      Thanks again.
