Swedish Easter tradition

Easter is here in less than a month! One Easter tradition in Sweden is to decorate your home with birch twigs with attached colored feathers. Today I saw that some people have already started doing this.
It’s an old tradition, and I’ve heard that the colored feathers are supposed to encourage spring to come sooner and bring life and color to nature.

Wow, these pictures are just gorgeous! The composition is delightful, the colors so cheery and the brightness/contrast simply smile-inducing. Thanks so much for sharing this tradition! I used to visit my Swedish grandmother for Easter before she passed a while back, and never wondered what the story behind all the colored feathers could be… it was nice to find out!
Glad påsk from St. Louis, USA!

Lovely photos, and thanks for the info about such an interesting tradition! I’m really looking forward to Easter, my family always has this big get-together and to me it’s better even than Christmas!
