Red Chinese Ribbon

Remember how I told you about the Chinese Year of the Water Dragon? When I heard about this, I thought that, from an astrological point of view, this year could not get any better. However, yesterday I got a letter in the mail from a friend, who happens to be one of Sweden’s most prominent experts on China and Chinese culture. He sent these two red ribbons to me and Hannes, explaining that they would ensure that our year of destiny will be filled with success (Hannes is a dragon, too). He received his own red ribbon from a Chinese friend years ago, and he cut these two pieces out of that ribbon.

I didn’t know it before, but apparently there is a risk that one’s year of destiny turns out really badly. But now I don’t have to worry about that, since this ribbon is supposed to protect me.
