I have a new cream eyeshadow from Shiseido. I like it so much! The shade is Leather BR 306 and it’s a perfect shade of brown with a subtle shimmer. It blends really well and stays on all day.
This Shimmering Eye Color range by Shiseido is fairly new (well, a year old now). Before they used to have a slightly different packaging and the shades were different too. Above you can see the old (Lemon Sugar H12) and the new versions.
Cream eyeshadows are my favorite! They are the ones I reach for every day, because normally I don’t have the time for applying eyeshadow primers and blending out powder shadows. On a regular day I usually go for a mono shadow on my upper lids, and that’s it.
This is why I always look for good cream eyeshadows in flattering colors.
Here are some of the cream eyeshadows in my collection:
This is a Studio Cream Eyeshadow by E.L.F. in Eggplant.
The color itself doesn’t make me think of an eggplant, but I still like it a lot. It’s a reddish brown color, which looks very nice with my brown eyes, and especially in this time of the year.
The only downside to this eyeshadow is the fact that it seems to have dried out a little. I’d really like to find this color in a cream eyeshadow of a better quality.
Here’s another one, Colour Mousse in Sassy 008 by Rimmel. I bought it after Lisa Eldridge had recommended it in one of her videos.
The color is an amazing complex taupe with lots of metallic shimmer in it.
Unfortunately, the same problem here, it seems to have dried out in the jar.
For the record, I don’t have any issues like that with my Shiseido cream eyeshadows, even though I’ve had some of them for a really long time.
This one is by Chanel, called Ombre D’Eau Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadow in #100 Torrent. Technically, this is not a cream, but a liquid. There are two phases in the bottle, a pigmented one and a watery one. You have to shake the bottle before use.
And here are they all together, plus a couple more:
All swatched in the same order:
You can see what kind of colors I like! At a first glance they’re all brown, but then you see that they’re actually different shades. What they all have in common is that they’re easy to blend and have good staying power (without it a cream shadow is useless!).
My absolute favorite one here is the one by Laura Mercier, Satinee creme eye colour in Cocoa Velour. I’ve written about it before, and I just can’t praise it enough!
