Today is Midsommarafton, one of the year’s most important holidays in Sweden. It’s simply a way to celebrate the peak of summer by having a midsummer feast. The most important thing is to eat lots of strawberries, herring and drink schnapps. Equally important is the dancing around the maypole.
I really like this tradition. The sun is up almost 24/7 around here these days, and that does deserve some recognition.
