Hyacinth feelings

hyacinth blue vase swedish love affairAs I mentioned before, hyacinth is a Christmas flower in Sweden. So after the holidays no one really wants to buy them anymore, and they go off almost for free. Like, three for 10 Swedish crowns (around 1 US dollar). So they rot and wither in the shops. And I feel so bad about this! And I end up buying them all.

I live in Norway and I do the same! This hyacinth tradition, is it only a Scandinavian thing?

I know how you feel, I always feel sorry for flowers that don’t get bought by anyone. They are so pretty, and it’s such a shame if they go to waste. I support you in your buying up the left over Christmas flowers! It’s very beautiful, too=)

I’ve never thought to take advantage of flowers that have just gone out of season. What a wonderful way to fill your house with flowers for cheap!
