Gorgeous Greger

I just came home from a nice walk with Greger. We went to a park that is designed for letting dogs run around freely. It’s fenced all way round and there are a bunch of obstacles, both natural and man-made, which Greger likes to play around with.

And today there was another Italian greyhound there! Greger loves it when he meets one of his own kind, and he can spot them from a hundred meters away. Unfortunately, this particular other Italian greyhound turned out to be overweight and not at all as fit as Greger. Greger ran around and around the other dog, trying to get it to chase him. It did chase him, too, but had to give up fairly quickly and lie down for a bit.
I hate to see overweight dogs (and, sadly, it’s something I see quite often!..). It’s just cruel to either give your dog too much food or too little exercise. Not only will they get less energetic, but it puts a lot of strain on their bodies, too.

I absolutely agree with you on this one! I think a lot of people don’t realize that it really is cruel. It is not cute or funny! I see this with cats too. And then there’s the issue with people getting a big dog not realizing how much exercise it needs! Small dogs need exercise too of course but they CAN manage with a little less.

I love your Greger, ever since I saw him I am considering about buying an Italian greyhound. So beautiful.

I should definitely exercise more, but I never skimp on my dog’s exercise. She depends entirely on me to get her exercise so I try to never miss a walk or playtime with her.
