First impression of co-washing with TRESemme Naturals Moisture Silicone-free Conditioner

TRESemme Naturals Moisture Silicone-free Conditioner for co-washing

So, the same day that we had our discussion I went down to the local supermarket and bought a huge bottle of silicone-free conditioner. It’s the one you can see in the photo above, TRESemme Naturals Moisture Conditioner. I tried the co-washing method right away, and here’s what I thought about it:

Pros:

- First and foremost: it did leave my hair very shiny and smooth! No frizz, which sometimes can be an issue for my wavy hair.
- It dried much faster then it usually does (no blow-drying)
- I couldn’t stop touching my hair (even the day after). So silky!
- It actually felt clean, and so did my scalp.
- I don’t have problems with greasiness, but this time my hair felt completely ungreasy even on the 3rd day (I did wash it anyway, though). Maybe it has to do with the silicone-free part. This might be a solution for greasy hairs.
- The conditioner felt “slippery” (I was afraid it wouldn’t since it was “natural” and all)

Cons:

- It takes a lot of time to massage your hair and scalp in the shower. Maybe 5 minutes or so to make it clean.
- You need a lot of conditioner. I used a full palm, so get a cheap one.
- I don’t know if the method is going work in the long run.
- If it does, what to do with all my shampoo?

This photo was taken on the second day after the first co-wash! The hair is pretty manageable here.

But here your hair seems to be much less wavy than ever, isn’t it? Do you think it’s a secondary effect of the co-washing?

I tried this method after reading your post, and had only great results! There is no downside, my boyfriend and all his friends say they love my new hair-look :D I can’t stop touching it myself :)

I feel like there are more pros than cons. Also your hair looks sooo nice and healthy. I wonder if washing it with shampoo maybe once a week would be a good idea? I am going to buy some silicone free conditioner today and try it.

Your hair looks great but not that wavy as usually :-) How did you know the conditioner was silicon-free? And by the way, do you know if it can be used with straight hair?

Your hair looks great – I don’t have any problems with frizziness, but it can get pretty greasy fast… maybe I should also try this out? Btw, this girl writes a lot about this method… http://milk.freshnet.se/2011/07/04/hair-wash-routines/

    Hej!
