We’ve all heard how white eyeliner can make you look more awake and “brighten up” your gaze. Applying white liner on the waterline of your lower lid is said to make your eyes look larger and give you “a bit of a pop”.
I’ve seen so many girls do this! And, while this trick might work for a studio photoshoot (I’m doubting this), I’ve never seen it look good in real life. I’m not Lisa Eldridge, but I can see what looks tacky and what doesn’t – and white liner on the lower lid does! Don’t use it if you’re going for a natural look, it will only look noticeable and draw attention to it.

If you want to achieve the promised effect, then a soft beige liner is your best friend. It will give you that well-rested look without being obvious, and your eyes will appear larger. My favorite skin-toned eyeliner is Clair 69 by Chanel.

Thanks for this tips, I will try to do as you described!
PS. I looove Lisa Eldridge, she’s a true make-up goddess! I wish she would write a book or something=)

BTW did you know that she is like 45 years old? I’d give anything to look that good when I’ll be in my 40s! Do you think it’s just the make-up or natural beauty? Maybe it’s Maybelline lol

      • Patty says:

Don’t get me wrong Antonia, you’re totally my make-up guru too! I feel I can relate more with you, as we’re about the same age and your more of a “normal girl” than Lisa is.

        • Antonia says:

          Haha, ok, Patty! I’m not a make-up guru, it’s just common sense=)
I didn’t know she’s that old! Well, 45 is not old in my opinion, but I thought she was younger. She is so great.

For the most part, I love your advice, especially when it comes to nails. But on this subject, I disagree with you. I always wear white eye-liner, and it does not look tacky. The effect simply makes my eyes look stunning (I get compliments for my eyes all the time)
But, I’m always open to new suggestions and, most of all, new make-up=) So I will try what you suggested here. I’ll get back with the results!

    • Antonia says:

I guess it depends if you’re going for a natural effect or not. If you get a lot of compliments about your eyes, I’m completely sure it’s because you have stunning eyes. Not because of white liner;)

Coldn’t agree more! To bad that all the beauty tips are way to hard for the average girl to get right.. I mean, it probably works great if your makeup is done by a professional, I have only seen tacky results myself..

  7. Lisa Eldridge would be pleased by your choice, I believe, as she prefers the shades that are close to the skin tone, instead of white ;)
