Exotic fruits

I know that many people love the yellow kiwi, because it's very sweet. Still, my favorite is the green one!

Today I’ve had both pineapple and kiwis, which of course doesn’t happen every day. I almost never buy pineapples mostly because they’re so tricky to cut up nicely.

As for the kiwis, I always cut them in two halves and eat with a tea spoon (although, sometimes I eat the whole kiwi, including the peel). However, I usually enjoy kiwis alone and very seldom, since Hannes is seriously allergic to them. Even a tiny amount could be life threatening, imagine that!

My stepdad knows how to cut up a pineapple!

I hate pineapples but I love kiwis, which I haven’t eaten in years! I’m sorry for Hannes though :/And that’s some serious cutting skills right there, personally I’d like to have that for cutting watermelons. I always mess them up :3

I like the taste of pineapple, but I always end up with sore lips after eating it! Is this what happens to you as well?

      • Nina says:

No, it never happened to me. Mind you, I’ve only eaten pineapple a few times in my entire life, but never experienced any soreness. Maybe they irritate your lips?

I have never seen yellow kiwis. I am going to look for them. I’ve only ever known of the green.

My father is like Hannes, seriously allergic to kiwis, and I inherited allegies from him, so until I was 23, I never dare to try kiwis just in case… and I have myself tested first ;)

Oh my goodness I could go for some kiwis right now…So sorry for Hannes that cant enjoy them. :( I’m very allergic to shellfish…which is sad b/c I loved eating shrimp (until I turned allergic to them and eating them made my mouth itch!!)

    • Antonia says:

Oh no! Shellfish is one of my favorite foods:( To turn allergic sounds even worse than being allergic from the start! So sorry for you, Laura (hopefully the allergy doesn’t affect your life too much:))!

I have to carry around an epipen in case I eat something that had some shellfish hiding somewhere…but its not too bad! If things are labeled (at the work cafeteria for example) I can eat happily :-)

I love kiwis! If you ever get the chance to try dragonfruit, I think you’ll like it. It’s got the same texture and similar taste to kiwis. Here in Hawaii, I actually live about 15 minutes away from the Dole Plantation, where they have this huge pineapple maze.

yum, i love both kiwis and pineapple so this is a lovely treat! Yeah, i only eat the yellow kiwis after i discovered them, hahaha. I eat kiwis the same way as you do, cut them in half and use a tea spoon. I suppose it’s the easiest and cleanest way to eat it.

I wish i could cut a pineapple like that! They are one of the most tricky fruits to cut for sure.

Ashame Hannes is allergic to kiwis:( oddly im not allergic to anything, not that i know of anyway, lol.
