Everyone knows I’m a crazy nail polish maniac, but I must say Chanel spring collection 2011 didn’t manage to turn me on at all. I’m glad they’re making pearly finishes, but the shades are b-o-r-i-n-g. Luckily! My wallet says thanks.

Also, yesterday I baked bread, by the recipe published by Leia. The bread turned out very good, yet not as photogenic as hers. And if you’re into nail related stuff (which is very likely if you read my blog), than you should totally visit her blog, she is very creative!

I wouldn’t call you a maniac, Antonia. You have proven to be a true expert on nail polish, but not a maniac=)
I managed to get a Black Pearl nail polish a couple of weeks ago, and I am very pleased with it. It has this really nice micro glitter and the color goes well with my eyes. You might want to try it, I think there’s a good chance you’d like it.
I also tried the pink / orange one, the Peche Nacree. I first thought this will be excellent for spring, but after I saw it on my nails, I think they just went a bit overboard. It’s just ever so slightly too pink for me.
    Have a lovely Sunday!

Black Pearl is definitely my favorite out of three, good choice! As for Peche Nacree, I have an exact same dupe and I expect something unique when it comes to Chanel. How’s the staying power?

Awww! Antonia you are so sweet! I was totally not expecting you to mention me at all and it was such a nice surprise! I was thinking, “hmm, yes, they’re not the greatest colors, she’s right… hey that’s my name!” :D

Even if it wasn’t photogenic, I hope the bread was yummy? I made some more today. It’s interesting how – even using the same ingredients and measurements – food can turn out differently in different places (harder to bake at higher altitudes, etc.)

It was yummy! I’m actually having a sandwich with it right now=) Thanks for the recipe! Easy to make, too. I don’t know, I just got so inspired to make it when I saw it on your blog=)

I have to agree, I find Chanel’s new collection of nailpolish quite uninspiring. Good for my wallet, but sad at the same time…!

Hi! I’m a lurker and I’ve been reading your blog for a few weeks now. I’m surprised you didn’t like the Chanel ones! I picked up two out of three (Peche and Black Pearl). I’ve got the latter one on now and it’s really gorgeous, like brushed on metal for nails! But, to each their own.

    Love the blog!

Hi Tessan! Well, it might be a way to talk myself out of it=) Black pearl is my favorite polish, and I’ve also been curious about the new 5-shadows=) I like how bold they got with the pearly finishes – it’s been such a no-no for many!

I’m not sure if you guys get Nars in Sweden, but if you liked the look of Black Pearl, may I suggest Full Metal Jacket? It’s something similar, but not a complete dupe.

I almost got that five shadow quad, but heaven knows I need another one!
