Today I’m posting a swatch of Cedar Green 251 by Mavala. It’s such a pretty shade for the holidays! I can almost smell the Christmas tree when I’m looking at my nails.
Here’s what it looks like when applied:
I made some comparison swatches with other similar shades of green I own.
Nail polish swatches starting from the little finger and moving upwards: Isadora Forest 719, Mavala Bronze Green 155, Mavala Cedar Green 251, Orly It’s Not Rocket Science.
On the nails they all look very true to what you see in the bottles.

I have that nail polish. I really like it, in general I like the greens on the nails. I really like the “Bronze Green” but in the store where I bought Mavala never have : (
PS: I recommend you try the tone 23 of Bourjois “Anti-Choc” and the beautiful 513 “Black Pearl” by Chanel.
A kiss!
Cedar Green is a nice shade, and not too in-your-face green! I like it a lot too.
I have Black Pearl, but unfortunately it has no staying power on me at all!:( It chips after just a few hours! I quite mad a Chanel and I always promise to stop buying their polishes, but it colors are so pretty!..
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Bourjois, but it’s not represented in Sweden. That shade looks very nice though, so I might just order it online!
You’re not the only one that happens this problem with the Chanel nail polish. To me it is exactly the same as you. I always use top coat, but not well endure … The truth is that for the price they should be of better quality. I have 3 Chanel nail polish, and all feel the same. What happens is that the colors are so pretty … I’m glad I’m not the only person that this happens.
A kiss!
Pretty colors! I especially liked the one from Mavala Bronze Green…and “the little finger” is called a pinky.
That one and “Forest” are my favorites too!
And thanks, I know that, so cute:) I just wanted to use a more “proper” word:)
….that’s the thing; the “little finger” isn’t proper use in social media anymore, plus the expression has been long outdated in general. North Americans would most probably take it for a joke… i’m not insisting, but just giving a suggestion if I may… i’m in PR and corporate communications, so English grammar and the right choice of vocabulary are my bread, so to speak… Since your blog has a global ambition to reach out to as many readers as possible worldwide, I thought that distinction could be important to you. But the polishes are definitely hot!
Thank you so much, Ilona! It’s so great to get a qualified input. I guess I just trusted Wikipedia too much!:)
These are lovely greens. I’m unfamiliar with the brands except for Orly as they aren’t available where I stay. Must say you have lovely hands!
I like cedar green a lot! I’m going to check out some stores if they’re selling it. Sadly most stores here only sell the mavala polishes with names of city’s or places.
The Cedar Green looks so great – right up my alley! I love really dark colors like that one. I need to try that one out asap!
