Recently Hannes’ mum has presented me with the most beautiful hydrangea and a bottle of Essie Mezmerised 93. I think this nail polish will compliment my new glitter Lorelei’s Tiara by China Glaze beautifully! Can’t wait to do a two-color manicure with these.
Today I’m wearing one of my new favorite nail polishes. It’s called Cryptic Purple 414 by Kiko Milano. This nail polish comes from Kiko’s Holidays 2012 collection, from the Dashing Satin Nail Laquer Set.
Right now I’m very much into darker pinks and purples like this one.
It goes on great, too, like all the other Kiko nail polishes I’ve tried. This particular shade requires two coats for opacity.
Here’s the set itself:
I’ve shown you the shade Enigma Green 416 from this set before.
Lately I’ve been very much into light blue and turquoise. Maybe because I’ve been shopping for my baby boy so much? I buy things in different colors for him, of course, but I must admit there are a lot of shades of blue included there, too.
This is why getting a package with these glass nail files from Mont Bleu made me extra happy this time around. I’ve raved about glass nail files before (read here!), and I could go on about their advantages forever. And by the way, the glass nail files by Mont Bleu are honestly the best ones I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried many. And how cute are those tiny Swarovski crystal incrustations (Mont Bleu is a Czech company located in Prague, this is why the Swarovski crystals really make sense here)!
Of course, I just had to do a manicure using my new glass nail files! Here’s a swatch of Enigma Green 416 by Kiko Milano. I would describe this one as a dusty teal or turquoise.
And here you can see a make-up bag I made yesterday using some Tilda fabric. Right now I’m learning how to sew in a zipper in the best way, so this is why I produce a lot of this kind of bags almost daily!
I told you about my new strategy when it comes to shopping for Christmas ornaments. Here are some of the things I bought. I really like the owls! I know Christmas is over and everything, but these are so pretty.
Today I’ve been getting some Christmas shopping done (this activity always includes a lot of coffee pauses for me!) and afterwards I’ve been wrapping the gifts. This year I’m getting these things done in advance, because the last thing I need is to get all stressed out the day before Christmas Eve!
Tomorrow we are going to see the traditional Santa Lucia celebration. This means we’re going to get up really early in the morning to see the beautiful procession, and afterwards we’re having a fika with the Lucia buns (lussekatter).
PS. Today I was looking through the search words bringing people to Swedish Love Affair. I do this rarely, but sometimes it’s just so worth it! Here’s a funny example from today:
What does it mean if a Swedish man stares at a woman? I hope this unknown visitor has found the answer on this page! I think this search brings you to this popular post about dating in Sweden.
When I was in Paris I bought some new Kiko nail polishes. Kiko Milano is probably my favorite budget brand of nail polishes and I hope they will open a store in Sweden some day. As you can see, I was in the mood for purples and taupes this time!
Unfortunately, the hard water in Paris was a disaster for my poor nails! It made them dry and brittle and they’re still recovering from that trip. It’s getting better now that I’m back in Sweden, though, so I’m hoping to swatch these guys soon.
Meanwhile, a couple of old favorites from Kiko:
I got a new Christmas nail polish duo from H&M! To me, Christmas should go in white, gold and red, so this is just perfect.
Honestly, I can’t wait until December 1st to begin enjoying the festive season, so Hannes and I have started eating pepparkakor (Swedish gingerbread cookies) and drinking glögg (Swedish hot spicy mulled wine) already. This year, however, I’m limited to the alcohol-free options of glögg! It feels just like when I was underaged, which is still very fresh in my memory.
