Looking through Swedish Love Affair I really feel like I should make face-of-the-day posts more often. It’s so fun to go back to them and remember all the different looks!
Here’s what I got in my GlossyBox for September 2012:
ANATOMICALS – Don’t Just Clean It Woman, Scrub It (75 ml)
A walnut body scrub that smells of grapefruit and lathers like a shower gel.
COWSHED – Cow Pat Moisturising Hand Cream (50 ml)
An eco-friendly hand cream with grapefruit oil and coriander. I always love to try a new hand cream!
FIGS & ROUGE – 100% Natural Organic Balm (full size, 8 ml)
A balm which can be used anywhere on your body, but mostly lips, cuticles and dry areas. The ingredients are all natural, and the container is really cute!
BALANCE ME – Pure Skin Face Wash (50 ml)
Another natural product with grapefruit oil. This one is by the Brittish brand Balance Me, which I hadn’t even heard of until now!
Normally, I’m very cautious when it comes to skincare, because my skin is quite sensitive and can be prone to misbehaving. But I must admit that I’ve discovered some true must-haves through the GlossyBox service!
BIOSILK – Silk Therapy
A hair treatment for hair, which is supposed to strengthen and revive damaged hair. My hair is actually pretty good at the moment, but who doesn’t want a better hair?
The bottle is really small, perfect to bring on my upcoming Paris trip!
Recently I’ve started using Korres Shampoo Juniper and Olive Tree. It’s free from silicones and a lot of other harmful ingredients. I thought it would complement my co-washing hair routine nicely (whenever I feel like using a shampoo, but still don’t want to mess with my non-silicone regime). Yes, I’ve started with co-washing again, but I use a different conditioner now.
And I must say I’m blown away by this shampoo! It leaves my hair clean and light a lot longer than any other shampoo I’ve tried before. It makes my hair soft and shiny, and the only downside it has is the fact that you need to use about twice as much as you normally would with a regular “conventional” shampoo. But with great results like this, who cares?
I’m not too familiar with Korres and their products (I do love this balm, though!), but after trying this shampoo and their Guava shower gel (see the first photo) I definitely feel like digging deeper into this Greek brand!
As you know, I got this Jelly Pong Pong lip frosting in Irish Cream Pavlova in the GlossyBox from the previous post.
This is a thick lip gloss, which can also be used on the cheeks. However, I like lighter products on my face, so for me it’s a lip gloss only.
There’s no brush included, so you either need to carry around your own lip brush to apply this lip gloss, or simply use your fingers. I must admit that I do the latter.
On my lips it looks really really pink and glossy. And yes, it’s pretty sticky, but I don’t mind.
Here are the things I got in my GlossyBox for August 2012. I realise I’m a bit slow with this (will post the September box soon, too), but I know many of you buy similar beauty box services in other countries, so I thought it would be fun to share anyway.
- MaxFactor Facefinity all day flawless 3 in 1 foundation (full size).
This is a new foundation by MaxFactor, but unfortunately, this particular shade is way too dark for me. This is the first completely useless product I got in a GlossyBox. However, I don’t even need a new foundation, because I have a super foundation already!
- Jelly Pong Pong lip frosting in Irish Cream Pavlova (full size). Loved this product, will make a post with a swatch soon!
- Gloss Shine Serum by Toni&Guy.
- A lipstick by GlossyBox manufactured by Illamasqua (full size).
- Weleda Citrus Body Lotion. I love to carry small tubes of body lotion in my purse as hand creams.
Here are the natural-looking lip glosses I like the most at the moment. These look nice on their own or on top of a lipstick.
1. Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer in Iris 96
2. Maybelline Color Sensational Cream Gloss in Fabulous Pink 137
3. Essence Stay With Me Lipgloss in My Favorite Milkshake 02
As you can see in the swatches above, the Essence lip gloss has a milky and creamy finish. The Maybelline one is shiny and almost pearly, while the one by Chanel is really sparkly.
