Booked for Budapest

Hannes surprised me today with news that we’re going on a trip to Budapest in a couple of weeks. I’ve never been to Hungary before, but I know it will be great. Budapest is known as the “spa capital of the world”, and has a fascinating history with its roots in the Roman Empire. Of course, I’ll let you in on all my preparations and experiences along the way.

I can’t wait!

I lived in Budapest for a long time, and it is an amazing, unique city. Such a fascinating, if depressing, history. I hope you have fun!

Oh what a great surprise! I love going to new countries! I did an archaeological dig when I was in college and spent 2 months in rural Hungary (very near the Romanian border) and some time in Budapest as well. It was an amazing experience, and Hungary holds a special place in my heart now :) Make sure to have some pogácsa (which are a small, savory, cheesy biscuit) that everyone has as a midday snack. I had them every single day I was there, and I miss them! I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip!

Budapest is lovely! Talking about spa I suggest you check the one of the hotel Gellert, the inside pool is amazing!
and for a sweet stop Gerbeaud
and the amazing Vajdahunyad castle! The museum it’s nothing special, just the architecture of the building is amazing. In winter the lake around it freezes and you can go ice skating.
I just adore the city, I’m sure you are going to have great fun!

  5. If you have an opportunity, take a look at Omorovicza products, they are expensive but totally brilliant! It’s 2 Andrassy út.
