American Horror Story, anyone?

I think I’ve mentioned before that I don’t follow any TV-series (except Masterchef Australia, which technically is a reality show and not fiction). I don’t even have a TV at home, and I don’t miss it.
However, recently I’ve read about this horror serial series called American Horror Story. Have you watched any of it? It’s supposed to be really good – and scary. I’m curious to see a couple of episodes.

I’ve avoided that show like the plague….because it looks excellent and scary…And 1) I scare very easily….2)I have too many shows on my “to watch” list. But I’ve heard good things about it! :-)

So awesome that you dont have a T.V. at home. We have one but I keep trying to reduce the amount of time I watch tv….Mostly to just the news and some of my favorite shows .

ha, ha my master thesis is on the American fantastic of the 19th century…i’ve been drawn to things of the kind since a very early age…would love to see what the show is all about..

I love it! But it definitely is a rocky start. The first episode is terrible and cheesy. But the second and third episodes are dark, tense, and genuinely scary. I’m in film school and have absolutely no time for television but I make sure I’m in front of a tv when that show is on.

The truth is that I had never heard of it, I’ve created a curiosity!

Look it up online to see what they say about it:)

Honestly the ratings are really high and the reviews are quite good. Some people think it’s getting a little silly but the creator has a good track record. With Halloween coming around the corner this was the perfect time to release this show however it’s a terrible time to get people hooked that are DirecTV customers only for them to rip it from their living rooms. I wouldn’t stand for that and even though I have a DISH Network employee account with a FOX agreement for years to come I would switch now before you miss any episodes.

Thank you for your input, Gman! I have seen the show for myself now, and thought it was a bit of a letdown. After seeing so good reviews I guess I expected too much from it. But I liked some of the plot lines and I particularly enjoyed Jessica Lange’s acting skills (loved her in Tootsie!). So I’ll definitely watch another couple of episodes before passing final judgement :)
I had no idea about the show switching to a different network, but I think you make an interesting and probably accurate analysis of the situation.

I have been watching it and it is getting better. I agree that the first episode was not the best. More funny that scary but I tend to like dark comedy. I think it is worth a watch.

I watched it this evening, and I too thought it was quite humorous, although I’m not sure whether or not it’s funny on purpose. But it had some interesting parts, and I love Jessica Lange’s portrayal of the lady next door. I will probably watch a few more episodes before I make my mind up on this.

Yes! Love Jessica Lange!!! Perfect for that role. I think you should watch a little more. I have a feeling you might like it.
