A Monday when it actually happens!..

So, today I’ve been to the gym for the first time! I don’t know if you visit gym on a regular basis, but for me it’ll definitely take time to get used to all those machines. Some of them looked pretty advanced and scary, and some looked quite kinky… However, with my instructor’s help I’ve found around ten machines that I liked.
As I mentioned before, it’s a brand new gym and it’s situated very close to my house, so chances are big that I’ll become a regular visitor!

My first time going to the gym was so scary, but after a few visits and a chat with a trainer I understood what each machine was for. I’m trying to visit the gym a lot more often too, maybe a lose a few pounds before the holidays! Hehe

Thanks for your support, Laura! How long have you visited it now? Do you see any results?

      • Laura says:

I have seen results after visting consistently…For my body type the key is to combine cardio + strength training (all those weird machines!)…..At first I lost a few pounds then that stopped but I felt a lot stronger and could lift much heavier weights in the machines.

I found it really useful to track how much I could lift/run each visit…that showed me the changes clearly.

Good for you! I think you’re going to do well. I miss the gym.

Thanks! Have you stopped going there?

I have. I invested in a treadmill and an elliptical machine to try and save money and make working out a little more convenient. This has been great but I really miss the way you can vary your workout by taking different classes. My gym offered a host of classes for all levels. I am trying to recreate that by acquiring a few different videos and trying to catch a yoga, pilates, cardio barre or barre method class from time to time. This helps to space out the expense.

I go to the gym for my “mental” health. Seriously, it will make you feel so good. Satisfied and accomplished.
    Good for you!

Well done, you! I personally never could get comfortable in gyms with all the people around. So we have a stair machine in my house that I use 3-4 times a week. :)

  5. Talk about timing! Just yesterday I was thinking that most of my friends are crazy gym fanatics. As for myself, I guess I am too lazy to go, although I’ve been invited so many times. I used to train a lot during my teen years but not anymore. Maybe I should give it a go though.. We’ll see.
And good luck to you! :)
