Tomorrow is our last day in Paris. We’ve been out and about from dusk till dawn every day, enjoying the incredible views, the world-class shopping and the delicious cuisine.
Speaking of views, this photo is taken from our apartment window. It’s the famous Sacré-Cœur basilica, which is built on the highest top of Montmartre. I must admit, I avoided the long staircase and paid extra to take the lift to get up there.
Hi there! I’m sorry for the late update, but the connection in our Paris apartment is really terrible.
Anyway, I’m so glad to be back in Paris, it’s such a wonderful city! Today I’ve been exploring the thrift stores in Montmartre and shopping in the Printemps department store.
In the evening we went to the Louvre, where we enjoyed some of the best art in the world for three or four hours. I’m taking a lot of photos here, and I’ll tell you more about everything when I get home. I hope you’re having a great start of the weekend!
We are now at our apartment in Paris! Bonsoir!
We took a late flight from Copenhagen’s airport Kastrup, which gave us the opportunity to spend the whole day in Copenhagen before flying off to France. The flight itself was very pleasant and short, just about an hour and twenty minutes.
The apartment we’re staying in is situated in Montmartre, very close to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. Can’t wait to discover more of this area tomorrow morning!
Yesterday I bought a package of those seed balls for birds again (like this), so today I went out on a walk to hang them on trees. I also put one outside of my window, and it resulted in a big crowd of small birds running around on my window ledge. The sound of their tiny feet sounds exactly like when it’s raining, so I spent half of the day at home waiting for “the rain” to stop, until I realised it wasn’t raining at all!
In just a few days I’m leaving Sweden for Paris! I’m really excited, and tomorrow I’m going to start packing my bags. Even though the weather there is supposed to be better than here, it’ll still be quite cold.
I’m hoping to get some early Christmas shopping done, and maybe some early Christmas gifts for myself, as well.
Apart from that, I will be visiting all the classic sights, including the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and the Arch of Triumph. Of course, I’ve been to see these before, but Hannes has never been to Paris, and I’m more than happy to experience them once more.
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m completely in love with The Killers’ new album, Battle Born. I love all the tracks, and my only concern is why they chose to make the song Prize Fighter into a bonus track. That’s easily one of the best songs, so it should definitely have made it onto the “main” album.
Anyway, I’ve been daydreaming about seeing them live, but for some reason I didn’t think they would be doing a concert in Sweden anytime soon. However, today I saw the poster above when I was doing some shopping!
I’ve already got my tickets booked!
Here’s what Hannes and I had for fika today. Sadly, lately both of us have been so busy with school and work (especially him), that we’ve hardly had any time to hang out! Even though we live together, sometimes we only have the chance to see each other for a quick lunch and before going to bed. This is why simply having a coffee and a chat together has turned into valuable quality time these days!
And below you can see what I documented from the dinner I had with my family the other day:
