I’ve been wanting to try Lime Crime make-up ever since I saw Lisa Eldridge using their lipsticks in her videos. So imagine how thrilled I was when they sent me a package filled with their super bright lip products! I’ve already tried all of them on and soon I’ll start posting FOTDs with them.
Safran Troublant by L’ Artisan Parfumeur is the new addition to my niche perfume collection. As always, you know how hard it is to describe a scent with words. To me, Safran Troublant is warm spicy saffron fused with sandalwood and subtle vanilla. It’s a very comforting and unobtrusive fragrance, and yet it’s quite sensual and intriguing. I imagine a love potion would smell something like this.
As you know by now, I love niche and selective perfumes. I have a favorite store that specializes in this area, which is the only one I ever buy these products in. You might have guessed it, and of course, it’s located in Rome. I get all my niche perfumes in Roma Store Profumeria. It’s located right in the heart of Trastevere, Rome, on Via della Lungaretta 63.
I hate to give away my secret goldmine of perfumes, but I feel obligated to spread the word. Roma Store Profumeria has a very big selection of niche perfumes, both Italian and from international perfumerists.
If you’re looking for an exclusive scent, this is the place for you. There are perfumes here that you can be almost certain that no-one you know back home will be wearing. Indeed, most people will never have even tried on a perfume of the caliber you can get here.
Stay tuned to see what I bought!
Of course I visited Fontana di Trevi on my Roman vacation. This is the fountain in which Swedish actress Anita Ekberg had a swim in the movie La Dolce Vita. Although I really can’t recommend taking the plunge today – going into the fountain carries a €500 fine and there are always police present there.
It’s better to just throw a coin into the Trevi fountain. According to legend, if you do this you become destined to return to Rome. I always do it, and it always works!
If you’re looking for a good pressed powder you might find this post helpful. I recently bought AeroMatte Ultralucent Pressed Powder by Estee Lauder and I’m very pleased with it.
This powder is very finely milled, blurs out imperfections and doesn’t set into pores. You can use it on bare skin, and it’ll make your skin look naturally matte, but not in that old-fashioned dry kind of way. It works as a setting powder too, over tinted moisturizer or foundation. Of course, like most powders it applies best with a powder brush instead of the included puff.
The compact itself looks nice and elegant too, which I think is important.
To make sure my new powder doesn’t feel lonely, I also purchased a lipstick to keep it company. This is the cult lipstick of all times, Estee Lauder Signature Lipstick in Cocoa Rose 13.
Here’s the second and last post about the Italian food market at Campo de’ Fiori. Being in rainy Sweden really exaggerates my longing back to the sunny Rome! I’d love to have a boiled artichoke with some butter while sitting in some small restaurant in Trastevere waiting for my pasta to arrive!
If you stay in the center of Rome make sure you don’t miss out on the famous food market at Campo de’ Fiori (the square with the Giordano Bruno monument in the middle). Here you can find fresh vegetables of the best quality and at reasonable prices, olive oil, prosciutto crudo and much more! If it’s the right season, I always buy some artichokes, zucchini flowers and asparagus.
